From the Oracle of Delphi, also known as The Pythia, (note word associations: The Pythia / Python / Snake Medicine/ Hidden Wisdom) to The Nechung Oracle (Oracle to the Dalai Lama), divination has always been a skill or gift of the "divine nation" (a nation of those connected to Source, God, angels, or some ethereal being) in order to navigate the murky waters of three-dimensional life where vision is not clear and true light is often hard to find.
Personally, I believe we were given divination as a gift to manage ourselves better amid the chaotic throng of collective free will.
Divination obviously does not and cannot take away free will - nor should it - but, if used in a predictive way, it allows one to see what is most likely to come about so it can be avoided or dealt with in an appropriate manner. "Appropriate" is up for interpretation due to that pesky free will - you can either deal with things in a manner that serves the highest good of all, or you can deal with things in a selfish, fearful, or angry way. Our free will is never arrested, and as a diviner, it's really not my job to tell you how to use free will - I just give you the info. I encourage the path of the highest good, though - this is the path that changes the whole world for the better and it would go against my own integrity not to encourage it.
Recently, I have truly rekindled my love of divination and my ability to "see", with a thorough reacquaintance of the Tarot and the creation of my own Lenormand deck which is proving so invaluable to me on a personal level that I have come to see it as a tool for 3D Life Management (something I sometimes suck at since I'm much more comfortable in the Otherworld than I am in this one). Lenormand is proving to be a confidence booster, an anxiety banisher, and an instrument that simply allows me to be "me" without guilt over all my capabilities. We are so often bullied into diminishing our value and strengths in this world. Lenormand says 'no' to that!
Of course, the above is how I, personally, choose to use divination in my own life - there are many ways to use it. Nowadays, Tarot can be "Tarot therapy". You can meditate with the cards, go on the shamanic journeys they offer, use them to invite Law of Attraction, use them for sorcery, ceremony, and summoning, converse with spirits in the form of mediumship, and so on. The list is endless. They are, after all, just the tool. The skill of using the tool is in you.
For me, divination offers direct access to Source/God/Spirit/angels for comfort, mediation, my vocation (in conjunction with the Otherworld), and life planning (this life and the next, as well as access to past lives). It also gives me access to various beings who need to communicate to various people here.
It's a joy and a pleasure to be an oracle and scribe; to be a communications coordinator (one of my previous job titles, ironically) for the divine. Communication and expression have always been my thing. Divination suits what I am, and what I do, even when I'm not divining.
I am currently experiencing a beautiful homecoming.

Tarot, Lenormand, Kipper, Oracle Deck.... none of these have power on their own - they are tools. The power comes from you and how you use them, which is why every Cartomancer is different. I choose to use all of my tools to further everyone’s journey through shadow into light. Soul evolution. Ascension of the spirit.
I’ve always been a visual, artistic and creative person, and I’ve always loved stories - I think that’s where my connection with tarot came from. The artistry + story (and mysterious origins) = match made in heaven. Add to that, it allowed me to connect with spirits in the Otherworld and my own guides, and what else could a witchy girl ask for?
My love of tarot has recently been rekindled by angelic communication, and revisiting shamanism (including shamanism practiced in past lives), and realising from a deep, instinctive level (rather than logical), that all systems and tools are connected, and have always been connected - for thousands of years and since ancient civilisations. All of it is JUST ENERGY. Some of it is conscious energy and some of it isn't. Our personal sorcery is how we work with and utilise all energies.
More recently, I’ve been enjoying connecting to angels without the cards - just talking to them and listening to their replies. Chatting to old friends - that’s what it feels like. It’s a wonderful feeling to connect to those who want to help you from the other side.
Divination is a beautiful thing because it can be used as a tool for personal guidance and empowerment. Some people don’t like the predictive element, but as long as we’re aware we’re always in control (we really are), then of course we’re allowed to be aware of the potential pitfalls ahead of us. Most of us actually already are - we already sense when something is about to happen. (How many times have we said, “I knew it! I just knew it!” after the event?) Tarot just shines a light on it so you can at the very least handle it the best way possible, even if it can’t be avoided. I always loved that it confirmed my gut instincts about things that then often did play out - it made me feel assured and less alone in my psychic wanderings. It allowed me to take responsibility and act on my instincts. Strange, isn’t it, that in this existence, we need to give ourselves permission to act on our instincts.
If you’re very truthful with yourself, Tarot rarely tells you things you don’t already know or sense. It usually confirms things, and sometimes offers a different perspective on the situation, and guides you on how to move forward. It’s like going to a counsellor...
Who’s highly intuitive, and likes to burn incense ;)🔮😉
